˗ˏˋ ★ REVIEW ★ ˎˊ˗
Lots of problems start for Hanna, Emily, Aria, and Spencer along with “A” being more involved in their lives. Hanna starting her drama with her dad, honestly can’t stand him.  Just let Hanna have some peace dude. Spencer’s parents really shine in this book.  It’s almost laughable with how cruel they are for such stupid reasons.  And yet Spencer still manages to mess everything up for herself.

Aria’s dad falling back into old habits and this time Mike is let in on the secret too which ends as well as you would think. Emily and her trusting nature is honestly kinda impressive to be that level of delusional.  Though her parents being the way they are it’s not all that surprising.  At least she came to terms a bit with the feelings she had towards Ali.

I have a LOT more problems with the content this time around, now that I'm reading more critically. For starters, the relationships presented in these novels (especially the romantic ones) are wildly inappropriate. Age gap romances and inappropriate student-teacher relationships are so normalized in this that it's... disturbing. Also the way that body image and disordered eating is "discussed" in this is so harmful, especially to the young readers that these novels are targeted towards. I get that these are "mean" girls and these novels were written during a time where people (more specifically teens) got away with this behavior more, but YIKES.
