I'm just having a lot of feelings ok. And now I can see why so many people really ship Clark and Bellamy on the show.

Idk, I just really liked this one all around. I can't complain, it was a good short book.

*spoilers*

I would like to say I really don't know what emotion I am supposed to feel for these characters. Sometimes I like them, sometimes I don't. The main POVs: I always question whether I'm supposed to feel bad for them. Maybe they're all just kids in a situation their society didn't prepare for, and they have to pay for it. There are a lot of moral questions about whether the reader would agree or disagree with certain actions portrayed by the characters. Still, I do like how, in a sense, it does relate to life itself and the overall possibilities that could happen if young individuals were in charge. HOWEVER, there was quite a lot that infuriated me. One is the whole, Clark doing an assisted suicide for Lily, Bellamy's first love. I understand that he has a right to be upset with those who put Lily and other children in that position where they are essentially test subjects and are left to die. Yet his first thought was to blame Clark. I get he's still in his stages of older adolescence, but he shifts all the blame on her and speaks about her horribly. In return, she is like, "Thankfully, he forgave me."

For what? If anything, that is between her and her maker, and I know there are more issues with what she DIDN’T do in the situation. But in my opinion, the young girl was stuck between a rock and a hard place. She helped Lily, whom she considered her friend, in the best way she thought by giving Lily her final request to be relieved from the pain. So, I don't like the fact that there is this mindset that what she did was totally wrong. She had no control over the experiments, and although it was her parents who were going through with it, they were generally terrified of what would happen to Clark if they didn’t comply. Their government probably found someone else to do it anyway if they didn't. Clark was a girl who kept a secret to save her family, and yes, while what they did was still wrong, it was manipulation and threats. Additionally, Bellamy also blames Clark for not having time to find her sister. While yes he did save Clark's life, which resulted in less time looking for his sister, he's only one person. If a whole group of "earthborns" takes Octavia, he cannot fight them off. He had no plan. I think Bellamy suppresses many of his emotions and, in turn, takes it out on another person, making his POV sometimes unbearable to listen to. I also question how long he knew Lily because many of these relationships are initiated a little too quickly for my liking. I knew Sasha and Wells's relationship was coming, but where's the tension?? I like a little angst, but all I'm getting is these people fighting after they’re together for a chapter or two, then immediately getting back together. I get it; they don't know if they will die soon or when they will see each other next, but I want to feel something for the couples. I just don't care for many of them and the characters themselves. I think Glass is especially one of those characters where I'm really on the fence because she has been through so much, but then again, her mom died, and it feels as though she gets over it so quickly. Like, yes, she's in shock, and other things are coming at her, but it never felt like she cared much about her mom. It's always been Luke, even though her mother seemingly did so much for her. I'm here for the tea, and a majority of the time, the story is a fun ride, but sometimes, the overly teen angst and cringe dialogue takes me out. We'll see how the rest of the series is. 3/5 stars.

This book is a great addition to the 100 series. It builds nicely from the first book, the character progression is perfectly written and it has left me wanting to read the third book in the series.
