It's really hard for me usually to read books that are the base line for a TV show that I like, but this seems like a completely separate world than the one that exists within the show. I love being able to have 2 separate takes on an idea that fascinates me. I can't wait to keep reading the books and watching the show!

It suffers from the same problems as the first book - the characters are unable to exist without their significant others. The pacing of the book is also difficult to follow - so much is attempted in such a limited number of pages and it makes it impossible to feel the terror Kass is obviously trying to invoke, especially when so many of those pages are filled with the melodramatic, teenage declarations of love.  Once again, it could've been a genre-defining series, but each book only serves to kill what makes it unique.
