Lies, Love and Forgiveness!!!

I have to say that I have been waiting for this follow up, and I was not disappointed!!!

In the conclusion, we really see how fragile and strong Chloe is! She was broken down, then put her self back together all in the name of her obsession, addition and her one true love Ethan Frost. I love that she tried to do what she thought was right for her, and in the end found out that it was never the right thing. In the face of everything that happened to her and what she found out and how, she persevered and and came out on top!

Ethan was just as damaged as Chloe just in a different way. I will say that I did not agree with the way he handled things and just couldn't be upfront with her. But, in the end I could see from his side as well, and his thought process. I loved the package in the end and what it symbolized!

I LOVED the conclusion to this story and and still wanting more... I will HIGHLY recommend this book.

Ethan and Chloe are back and there is more drama than on your favorite soap opera.

This time around the book starts with Chloe dealing with the trauma of learning who Ethan's brother really is. She is devastated because he withheld this information from her. She is broken and wants nothing to do with Ethan at this point. Ethan, on the other hand, just wants a chance to explain, to fix his mistake and to get Chloe back. When that doesn't happen, they separate and keep their distance. Until the night of the celebratory dinner for landing the Trifecta account.

After being ignored by Ethan, Chloe decides to walk on the beach outside of the restaurant. She is soon followed by a lawyer from the Trifecta team who, after a few polite moments of conversation, becomes freakin' creepy and is pushing for more from Chloe. Ethan, noticing that Chloe is missing, follows her outside and marks his territory like a good alpha male. The confrontation that follows brings things to a head for Ethan and Chloe. And with a storm brewing over the ocean, they rip each other's clothes off, and have hot passionate sex in the wind and rain while the rest of the members of their party enjoy a lovely dinner inside. Yup..screwing in public with a good chunk of the legal department and interns are just a few feet away. Ballsy!

After discussing their issues, and Chloe repeatedly saying she didn't want to discuss Ethan's family, they make their peace and become a couple once again. Then...Chloe's brother shows up, sucker punches Ethan, argues with Tori, put all sorts of doubts in Chloe's head and leaves. The doubts stay however, and make themselves known when Chloe learns that Ethan's bastard of a brother is running for office in Boston and Ethan is backing him. That causes another emotive discussion, more tears and more promises of love and devotion.

Once again, all is well until a trip to Napa and Momma Bitch shows up and breaks things once again. She, with evil glee, lets Chloe know exactly who paid Chloe's family the three million dollars after Chloe's rape. I'll give you one guess...Yup! I saw this one coming miles away without my glasses on, so I don't know how Chloe missed it. But they do say love is blind, so....

This new bit of information makes Chloe want to run once again, but she has matured a bit and waits two hours for Ethan's return to tell him to his face that it's over. While leaving, she is secretly hoping that he will follow her and beg her to stay, but he doesn't. She goes home, cries, annoys Tori, and generally mopes, until she receives a package from Ethan. It contains a box from Tiffany's with a bracelet similar to her belly chain, but larger links. much larger. As she realizes what the bracelet symbolizes, there is a knock at the door, Ethan returns and all is forgiven.

I know my review sounds a bit snarky, but like Tori, I got whiplash from the back and forth between these two. There are so many arguments and so much angst, it made my head spin. I still loved every soap opera-ish moment and like the romantic that I am, just wanted to see the happily ever after ending. The epilogue gave me a peek into that and with another novel on the way, I am hoping for more of Ethan and Chloe, just calmer and saner versions of them. However from the blurb, i'm guessing that is not in the cards yet. I can't wait for book three!

Alright lets have a chat about this book. Maybe I'm biased as a psychology student, as both a rape victim, domestic abuse survivor, and lastly as someone who has been in therapy since she was in grade seven. This was a shit show upon shit show. I hate the stereotype that rape victims just need to find the right person and then all the trauma and the fears just disappear. It doesn't work like that. And you sure as hell do not get involved in the family of your rapist. BITCH WTF! NO! you can not heal in the same environment you were harmed.

The only sane person was the Miles the brother. the fuck are you doing with 1. your boss 2. YOUR RAPISTS BROTHER 3. THE AGE GAP OF ALL AGE GAPS 4. SOMEONE WHO THOUGHT IT WAS REASONABLE TO NOT LOOK INTO THE EVIDENCE A YOUNG SCARED GIRL GIVES AFTER BEING BRUTALLY RAPED AND INSTEAD JUST DECIDED WELL HE SAID HE DIDN'T DO IT SO OBVIOUSLY HE DIDNT SO HERES SOME MONEY LOL

The plot was shit, the inner dialogue of "he's so great" "I can do it for him" YOU SHOULDNT HAVE TO every damn chapter and being so back and forth with the stupid arguments.

also Ethan was not an amazing, understanding guy. Chloe had very reasonable reasons so place a boundary on gifts. The lack of respect about this from Ethan was disgusting and problematic. I had the exact same boundary for a long time in my current relationship and he damn well respected this boundary and let me work on it so I was comfortable with it. THATS WHAT A GOOD PARTNER DOES. THATS WHAT YOU DO IN A RELATIONSHIP. AND HOW YOU MAKE SOMEONE TRUST YOU.

there wasn't a single thin redeemable in this book and I can't even bother with the last book after this shit show

I do love me some Ethan Frost and e is definitely the high light of the book. I really enjoyed the story but felt like Chloe's friend Tori, felt like I was starting to get whiplash and just wanted Chloe to stop for a minute and see what she had.

Also it drove me a bit bonkers that Chloe went from a character with red curly hair in book one to a blonde in book two and her Mini Cooper was suddenly a Honda :-(

Over all I really enjoyed this love story and Ethan makes all the little things worth it. He is really a beautiful character!

Great love story

The chemistry between Chloe and Ethan is undeniable as well as tortured. I loved the story and the history between the characters seemed possible and probable.

This book gave me whiplash I loved Ruined but this book didn't do it for me. Chloe was so freaking annoying in this book I felt like yes what happened to you was horrible but come on you opened yourself to heartache but hooking up to your Rapist brother time after time he lied to you but you took him back and forgave him then found out he lied again an still you took him back. To be honest this book read like an Abusive relationship one big cycle. The ending was so cliche I was like come on really. To me the only good parts in this book was every scene with Tori I can't wait to read her story.

After reading the Play Me series, I wanted to read Ruined and meet Mr. Frost. Although the plot for Addicted was revealed to me in th e Play me series it ztill didnt stop me from reading it. I did think the story dragged at times but it was still enjoyable and I cant wait for the series ending.

Tracy Wolff makes me feel the pain the main characters feel, the joy, the anger and betrayal. I don’t know how she does it but she does. Ethan Frost is always trying to fix everything for Chloe while also messing up because he’s not perfect but unlike most YA books I read, he’s not a complete asshole and jerk. He’s genuinely a good guy who helps everyone around him and that’s why I’m obsessed with this series. Chloe is the most realistic character I’ve read about. She has PTSD and is written perfectly. I believe she has PTSD not just says she does like most books I’ve read.
