Although a bit less war centered (gotta also advance the plot) there's no shortage of intrigue on this volume. We arrive at the Dusk Court, we meet new players and I personally finally found some kind of love for Tuya (still angry at her, but her actions are justified). Still loving Corvin and Kippa and their father-daugther relationship

It feels like the story is picking up the pace in this volume, even when it spends a lot of time in a sort of dreamscape/memory realm. Definitely seems like we're moving towards some sort of resolution. The artwork remains beautiful, the characters remain morally grey at best. Honestly this was a great pick for spooky season.

PROTECT KIPPA AT ALL COSTS!

We learn more about the war, the past and what is to come. Volume 7 was an absolute masterpiece and added more depth to the beautiful and horrifying story that is Monstress. I need more asap😍
