A great, quick, funny read

I love this author, because her books are quick reads with great characters with emotion mixed with lots of laughter! Brek and Velma were definitely an interesting opposites attract combination! I’m off to enjoy the bonus epilogue!!

Opposites attract, its true, and now Brek and Velma are proof of it! But this quirky, funny slow burning romance is so much more than that. Christina Hovland has crafted a story that will make you laugh out loud, make your heart hurt and put it all back together in a low angsty, fun listen.I love her writing style, and the characters she created are so easy to relate to. Velma believes there is an algorithm to finding your soulmate, and with her excel spreadsheet is on the mission to find him. Brek is not high on that list, but he makes her heart beat fast and his touch is sizzling. So what to do? Trust your instincts or trust the formula? I found Velma easy to relate to, everything orderly and organized and Brek just doesn't fit the mold. Brek is an incredible man, willing to help out in all situations and just all around wonderful. I love how Hovland weaves their story, slow and deliberate, with hints of love and lots of frustration! It's so much fun you don't want to miss it.

The narration just takes on a life of itself with this narration team. Neva Navarre and Lance Greenfield bring it all to life, with each quirk and each emotion. They are seasoned storytellers and find the exact inflections that just make the story come to life. It's a pleasure to listen to them.

I was looking for something kind of light to read after a particularly angsty book. I read the description and thought, "Why not?"

this book about Brek and Velma (no offense to any Velma's, but I hadn't heard that name sense my grandmother's time) proved itself to be lighthearted, quirky, funny, sexy, and romantic.

Th weirdness of a somewhat spontaneous band manager becoming a wedding planner with the help of an uber organized financial planner was over the top. Somehow, the author made it seem completely doable and normal.

I liked Brek and the way he helped Velvet (Velma) loosen up. Although Velma was wound pretty tightly, and I don't think she breathed without a plan in her hand, watching her loosen up with Brek was kind of funny.

All of the other characters in the book were their own brand of quirky, but all completely likable. Going Down On One Knee was an unexpected treat. I got an epilogue, an HEA, and bonus material at the end.

Talk about romantic comedies. This is just what the doctor ordered if you are a fan of these types of books. Brek and Velma were great. Although, they had help in the form of friends and family. Which I hope to see more of again in the future.

Brek is like a fish out of water in the wedding planning game. He rides a motorcycle and plays guitar. Yet, family is important. So, when his sister needs him to help out, he is willing to lend a hand. Brek gets off to a rocky start with a bride that bails, a wedding dress covered in chocolate and dog puke, and invitations that look like a child made them with tons of gold glitter.

Velma is just as lost about wedding planning but if she wants her sister's wedding to go off without a hitch, she better help Brek. You could feel the heat radiating between Velma and Brek. They did not disappoint when they finally hooked up.

This was an awesome read about Brek who has to come into town for a few reasons but ends up helping his sisters job as a wedding planner. He stays with Velma. who is a little uptight and has a 5 year plan so she doesn't even give him the time of day even though she is attracted to him because he doesn't check off the boxes she has set. These two have an instant attraction and the chemistry is off the charts. I loved the wedding planning side of things it was hilarious all the mishaps that happened and I kind of felt sorry for Brek for having to deal with all of it but in the end he did good. This was a cute and sweet read and Velma had some serious insecurities but time with Brek helped her slowly get over them. I fell in love with Brek and slowly learned that Velma wasn't too annoying with her plans but she had her reasons. I highly recommend.
