this has been my least favorite of tillie walden’s novels that i’ve read this year, but it’s still great. having also spent my entire childhood in a sport i actually hated this was weirdly relatable. not the magical realism of her other books but it’s a nice read. definitely needs a tw for sexual assault

Love to be a queer teenager in a sport that doesn't love you back. Beautiful illustrations.

Tillie Walden's experiences as an ice skater as she navigated middle school, found her passion, and came out to her family.

Walden's illustrations are beautiful, but there's something about her stories that I just can't get into.
