I love Moss Lawton's sketches of the characters in Instagram so I just had to read this. The story didn't leave me super impressed but I can tell that it will pick up in Spellbent; kind of like this one is the pilot.

Gwen's the best.

I'm kind of sad that I read it in a (greyscale) e-reader because I can tell the art is beautiful and I would've loved getting to see it in full color.

A lot of personality. Very witchy with some occult on the side. I could see this as a cartoon since the character dynamics and humor are well-defined.

I loved this! I've been following the author on social media for a while, and always loved the Hellaween stuff they posted, so I'm really glad they've made a whole book. I can't wait for the next one.

I wanted to like this read but I didn’t feel like I ever really got to know the characters, understand how we got to the beginning of the story, or feel like the ending brought us anywhere. It felt like there was not much of a plot at all.

A bit of Invader Zim plus Scary God Mother and a spark of inspiration from the author this is such a unique and great read! I think this could be so easily animated, clearly the author had a lot of time to get the nuance of these characters. I could really feel them being friends for a while - it's great!

A good handle on art style and story this was really a once and a while gem!

Super fun spooky novel following three friends; a vampire, a werewolf, and a witch. They're being hunted by a supernatural fanatic and his not-so-enthusiastic friend. The witch wants to go to the Hallowlands where the supernaturals and monsters live but her friends hesitate thinking she's too fragile. That causes a rift in their friendship and naturally things get wacky.

The colors and bold lines were really cool, but sometimes hard to follow. The plot was all over the place and there's definitely room for more books. I'd recommend this for 8th grade and up.
