This duology was lovely. If you’re in search of a cozy fantasy story but you’re also a fan of the Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, this is that. I would say this may not be a book for anyone who likes more plot focused books, because this is the kind of book that feels like taking a walk along a country road. Even though the stakes are sort of high, it didn’t feel intense, hence why it felt like a cozy story. Starting in the first book and continuing here, we are mainly watching two characters exist and experience eternal life. A glimpse at humanity. It once again, like many of this author’s other books, is filled with many lovely and powerful quotes. But this one specifically had lines that felt relative to what is going on in the world. It was lovely and I cannot recommend it enough to those searching for more cozy fantasy.
