As beautiful as book one was, book 2 wasn't as great. I love the slow pacing of Peaches and Honey. It fit the characters, the development, and everything about it. In this one, I expected a bit more action. Both Khiran and Anna are supposed to be running and hiding from The First, yet there's no sense of urgency. In fact, it's as if the First isn't really a threat. Then when I finally get to the big bad, it's anticlimactic. However, there are still many things I loved about the story. Khiran and Anna's love is one. I found them to be so very sweet and honest. The lengths they'd go to for each other is beautiful. The other characters were also a huge reason as to why I enjoyed this book. The ending could have been better. It's a tad unfair what happened and her powers should have been better developed. Still a decent read and beautiful duology.

The love that is shown in this duology is beyond. You feel everything they go through, all the pain and despair. But their love for each other remains above all. I can't even begin to describe how comforting and tender these two books were.

definitely reread the first book before diving in, if you read it prior to this one’s release. there are some details from the first book that i forgot, and they aren’t very clearly reiterated in the second.

I felt like the first book could have a been a standalone. The characters felt very young for immortals. With the same conversations happening in every chapter it didn’t feel as if the characters developed all that much. Cool concept wish it was explored alittle differently.
