The part I loved most about this book, was the fact that Gabriel finally opened up about his past and let Justin work with him to free them of his past. I'm also happy that Gabriel isn't the only one in his family who needed out. Nadia and Alexei were fun characters but my favourite was definitely Grunt, who I wouldn't mind seeing more of later.

What annoyed me somewhat, was the fact that some things in this book seemed to contradict what had been mentioned in the first book, tiny things though. Like Justin having more trouble from his past than he had first indicated (even in his private musings in book 1), the fact that Gabriel said it was the first time he was jealous where he had been jealous with Chris in book 1. I mean, they were tiny things, but they drew me out of the story every time.

And now I obviously need Justin to open up about his past as well. I hope we will find that all out in book 3, which I'll read very soon.

Yep I do enjoy Gabriel and Justin. Of course Gabriel's going to try to get his family off his back on his own and of course it goes badly. I do love seeing these guys causing trouble together, they just support each other so well. Both of them are badasses that have that sweet little heart of a soul. Assassins they may be, but they're not all bad. If they want the opportunity to have a life free and clear, there's just a little bit of the past they need to clear up first.

This one's pretty action packed from the top and yet we finally do get to know a little bit more about Gabriel's past. His family is of course evil incarnate and need to be taken out. I did enjoy the little interlude with his sister. There's still a lot we don't know about Justin, but both men are finally at a place where they know the other person is going to be there for them and is someone they can trust with all the little things they've never trusted anyone with before. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

This book starts with action and continues in that high octane vein throughout. The chemistry between Justin and Gabriel is as hot as ever, as we find out about who is after Gabriel, I wasn't really shocked by who it was but there still some twists along the way. Hopefully the boys get their happy but as there is at least one more book in the series, I'm sure there more shocks, twists and action to come. I can't wait.

[3.25] for a notably high stakes suspenseful premise, there wasn’t a real sense of threat or danger that had me on the edge of my seat, fearing for our characters’ lives, but i still enjoyed this book enough!

HELLS YEH!!! so so much fun!

Fun, well paced. Justin and Gabriel don't come off quite as amateur-ish in this book as they did in book 1, but neither of them are the sharpest tool in the shed.
adventurous tense medium-paced

Ahh I love these two so much! Justin and Gabriel met in book 1 of this series as rival assassins forced to work together to uncover a conspiracy in Big Pharma. Despite being complete opposites, it turns out they are perfect for each other. There's just one big problem: Gabriel's entire family wants him dead. This part of their tale features Gabriel trying to get rid of the target on his back by killing his powerful Russian family.

I don't want to spoil much more than that, because every twist and turn deserves to be experienced firsthand in this book!  It's so good! Since I read the series that takes place after this first, I've absolutely adored reading this couple's origin story. And it's not over! Book 3 features them too! I'm so glad, because I just can't get enough.

🔥: Steamy and passionate! You will feel every bit of love these two have for each other in slowly paced scenes with graphic details.
😆: The epic banter continues! And OMG I loved meeting a certain nephew from the Shadow Elite series! Ahhhh!!
😭: No tears, but edge-of-your-seat suspense the whole way through!

I may have to jump right into book 3 with these two. Justin and Gabriel are the beeeeeest!
