It’s very Men Writing Women in parts with some misinformed and bad science jargon thrown in, but the rest is a good ride.
Graphic: Animal death, Cannibalism, Murder
I got sucked out of this book the second the author name dropped his own book as something his character was reading and just couldn't get back into it

I was enjoying this until the introduction of a troupe (?) I just cannot stand or stomach any longer. I can’t say more without spoiling.
Thanks netgalley for my ALC

"While (this book) is fiction, the science in it is real." This was a crazy read. Honestly if Erubus Resort was a real resort... I would probably go. Who wouldn't want to see extinct animals (or dinosaurs, Jurassic park style)?!?!
As always with Preston's books, this was action packed and had creepy, heart-pounding scenes. I look forward to more books about Cash and Colcord!

What a fascinating premise! Wooly mammoths roam the mountains of Colorado whilst murders are investigated. Although enjoyable and exciting, Extinction was somewhat predictable.
3.5 stars rounded up. Extinction is a wild ride through the unknown! Filled with adventure and suspense it kept me reading late into the night. The plot while very original leans a bit on the cheesy side but it is entertaining and there's plenty happening for the science nerds out there. I'm a huge fan of the Pendergast series, Preston's collab with Lincoln Child and this was an equally thrilling side trip adventure. My thanks to the publisher for providing a review copy via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
