Plot is too predictable and it's just silly. I did like the scenery and the development of the working relationship between the two cops.

I can’t believe this book’s rating- it’s awful.
There’s way too much explanation and not enough natural story-telling in the first half. Show, don’t tell, is the rule, but everything here is simply filled in by characters explaining things to the reader- you don’t get to figure anything out, it’s just a slow slog for awhile as you wait for the characters to start making sense of things.
And from there- it just breaks plausibility. The antagonists are so dumb, the enemies too skilled- it’s absolutely insane how perfectly they execute everything. They’ve been locked up, sheltered, but somehow are ahead of these silly Homo sapiens every step of the way.
Joey coulda been an amazing character, but all character is completely absent from this one. My letting takeaways of Cash and whoever are that they’re slightly overweight but still in good shape- that’s a sticking point for the author, for some reason.
This is just brain rot, honestly, a bad TikTok video in book form. It has the depth of a bird bath, and I do not understand how anyone could enjoy such nonsense.

Most of the book was pretty long and boring to me. The reveals were pretty good. Most of this was just an average murder mystery with some exist animals thrown in
