I haven't had as much time to read lately and I hated having to put this book away each night. I thought it was very interesting and there was a lot of information and side stories that I had not heard about. What a sad and trying time for North and South alike! I was worried that this book would be boring, and i am happy to say that was certainly not the case.
What an entertaining and educational read. Even with the smallest details included, Killing Lincoln reads as a novel rather than a stuffy history book. While I know many conjectures were included, there are details given that I haven't read in other places, especially about the conclusion of the Civil War. This is worth spending the time to read.
Audiobook read by Oreilly and I didn’t enjoy his reading. Story pretty good otherwise
A little slow at the beginning but was very interesting.
All non-fiction should be written this way! Very interesting little known tidbits of information along a familiar journey told in a refreshing and exciting way.
O'Reilly has this amazing ability to get into the heads of people long dead. He sure must be psychic. The book reads more like fiction than non. Lots of wild speculation mixed with history. Not sure how much more to believe than what I learned from history texts from growing up.

I definitely enjoyed this, and that is saying something coming from me. I generally dislike most historical non-fiction. However, the way O'Reilly wrote Lincoln's story was very compelling and never got boring. The present-tense narration kept the reader engaged throughout the book, even in the slow parts. It didn't bother me when O'Reilly and his co-author delved into conjecture, but this is probably in part because I love a good story and would choose one any day over a dry historical narrative.
Educational and entertaining. A lot of information placed in an easy to read format.
