What a fun read! The suspense, the ghosts, the murders, every part was amazing. I especially loved that they added in some pop culture references as well.

“It’s shimmering,” she says, her voice low. “Like the hotel itself isn’t all here at once, all at the same time.” + “Blood drips down the elevator doors and pools over the tile floor of the lobby. The doors open, and it’s raining blood, staining the carpet and mirrored walls inside the elevator car.”

I have been eyeing this book for a while, it even was one of my most anticipated reads of 2022, and now I finally had time to get to it! And boy, I am glad I did. This was a spooky ride. It was awesome!

dnf technically, but it won’t let me write the review otherwise. this book is a lot of things, but the main thing I’m gonna comment on is the fact that this is essentially a story about Elisa Lam. how do I know? Other than the glaring similarities, this book is dedicated to her.
Which is honestly kind of messed up. This girl died and yes it’s a mystery, but it’s not one we can exploit and b like “look ghost YouTubers are gonna go investigate because apparently she was psychic!
I don’t know what happened to Elisa Lam. No one knows. But she has a family and this feels like exploitation and it’s not well done or respectful at all. She was real, she died and it was sad, and you dedicated this weird YouTuber book to her and it’s just, not okay? Idk. Idk.
banger cover though!

Honestly had a promising premise but trying to shove romance and love triangle in the story was stupid and made no sense more romance than horror
