When Dr. Drew suggests to his wife that they leave Manchester for a remote village called Aberness, he's surprised when Fern agrees. What she doesn’t know is that Drew’s true motivation for the move isn’t the promise of peace or a lighter workload, but to rekindle an affair with the woman he once fell madly in love with.
This thriller is utterly addictive and gripping—I couldn’t put it down! Both Drew and Fern are so complex and unpredictable, drawing me into their characters from the very start. The setting was perfect, and the plot twists were incredibly satisfying! This is definitely a thriller to remember, and I can’t wait for the sequel!

Nothing about this book was surprising, the twists didn’t have my jaw on the floor… it was kind of boring, only reason I didn’t DNF it was because it is so short. The male main character was absolutely insufferable and the female main character was kind of annoying. I wasn’t rooting for any of these characters and it was just blah. I will not be continuing this series.
For the first quarter of [b:The Doctor’s Wife|66546661|The Doctor’s Wife|Daniel Hurst|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1670966781l/66546661._SY75_.jpg|100173807], I was not happy. The main characters, Dr. Drew and Fern, were both unlikable in unique and tedious ways. I did not like being in their heads with the first person POV. and having a hard time connecting with them in their miserable excuse for a marriage. Had I made a mistake in picking up this "domestic thriller"?
But then the story started to transition. Fern's seemingly dispassionate character came into focus, and Dr. Drew's narcissistic character degraded into something nastily incorrigible, both things I was 100% ready to see. Okay, here was something I could settle into and invest myself, because this chaos was finally gaining the right kind of momentum.
I'll give this two stars to start, then five stars for the meat and the satisfying ending, rounding to a four.
A suggestion: do not miss the epilogue! It does not change the official ending, but it's an enjoyable little dessert to taste after the shit show has calmed.

Great one! A true psychological thriller with an eye opening twist, I actually give this one 4.5 âï¸
Set in England, follow our main characters the married couple - husband is a doctor- from the city to the quiet country town by the sea. Why did the doctor want to move, really? Why did the city loving wife agree to go? And what the heck is going on?
Enough mystery to keep you guessing but enough information and twists to prevent frustration.
