Book 85 of 2024: The Doctor’s Wife - Daniel Hurst
Fern has it all, the perfect life, the perfect marriage, the perfect husband…but he has secrets and so does she - she knows he’s not the charming man he says he is.
Review:
⭐️ 4/5
An enjoyable read with a good few twists and turns along the way. The story was different than I had anticipated from the description but engaging nonetheless. I felt the story could have ended before the epilogue but now it has a more open ended finish opposed to a neat ending. Hurst’s books are always an easy read with a decent storyline to draw you in.

The writing was amateur and the plot mediocre. I foresaw it as soon as the character was introduced and there is nothing worse than reading a book with such an obvious plot. Just a number for the Goodreads goal in the end.

The book wasn’t a hard read and had a lovley quick pace but I found inconsistencies in the story and character development. I found that the female characters were less rounded than the males. It was a good book but I feel like it may appeal more to an older audience
