I've only read the first couple full-length novels in this series, but I really like it. I couldn't resist reading this Quick Read story even though I've missed a lot that happened before. I enjoyed this novella a lot and am glad I read it. There is some fairly violent scenes, but loved see Roy Grace and his family on a vacation that goes VERY wrong. For a shorter story, there is a lot of suspense that builds up and I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. As Roy says in the book, it was a "holiday to die for." I recommend this to both new and returning readers of this series.

I do find it hard to give a short story anything higher than a 3, and I’m not sure why. Possibly because I haven’t had time to fall in love with the characters or I haven’t gotten emotionally invested in the story. That being said, I did enjoy this book. The story was straight to the point, had some tension build up, but it was a bit predictable and rushed.

Don’t be disappointed with the 2 star rating. I would recommend this book to anyone. Anyone and everyone. I love these quick reads for commuting or just filling time in between stories. They are great to tease people back to reading or someone looking to start.
