I think this is a great book... for older kids and adults. The illustrations are just beautiful and the poetic language is perfect. The cold, blustery scenes made me shiver. But I think the language and experiences are too rich for young children to truly grasp. It doesn’t mean we shouldn’t read it to them, but I believe adults will get more out of this than children.

Join the wind as it blows all over the world. Brief moments describe where the wind blows, around what animals and through which environments. The repetitive "I am the Wind" offers both a steady refrain and an opportunity for some call-and-response with a storytime audience. There is something exhilarating about riding along with the wind, wherever it blows.

This is a beautifully illustrated book calling attention to something that is part of everyday life, but we don't think about very much - the wind.
