this was fine but honestly the middle was... nothing? the plot was doing Too Much and the writing with all the brands, companies, name drops, etc was just cumbersome. zoe was an interesting character but the story was more plot than anything else. never really felt the vibe here.

This is a sweet romance that can honestly barely be called that because it’s not as saturated throughout the book like most romances. But the story was enjoyable. If you’ve read about Silicon Valley or worked in it, this book makes your skin crawl at all the appropriate parts. Author did a great job capturing the culture.

3.5 Stars // Really enjoyable book and the audiobook was fantastic. I was hooked pretty quickly and was eager to see how everything played out. Always a sign of a good book!

I will say I would have rated it higher if it was a YA novel. It read that way, which I didn’t expect. It really pretty predictable and some of the messages felt a little bit forced. Like the main character was reading quotes.

That said, I def recommend it if you’re looking for a fun, quick women’s lit book. There is some romance, but it’s a small part of the story.

Thank you to Berkley Pub for the free book and PRH Audio for the free audiobook!

Just a light little palate cleanser of a book. I can't remember the last time I found a palate cleanser book that was ACTUALLY not a romance or a thriller, and it feels amazing. (Disclaimer: I realize that this is listed as a romance on some platforms, but booooo.)
