I actually listened to the audiobook, and it was a 10 out of 10 experience. I absolutely loved it. It was so funny! I went in with zero expectations, to be honest, because I didn’t even know what the book was about. All I knew was that it was written by Oscar Wilde, and I was curious to see what the story was.
It turned out to be such a hilarious and sharp novel. I had never read a play in English before, this was my first, but definitely not my last. I love Oscar Wilde’s take on society and the way he uses his characters to critique it. I find that so fascinating.
This might not be a book I vividly remember years from now, but it was such a fun, clever experience overall.

Spent the entire thing picturing Stephen Fry as Algy.
When I first started reading this I thought Oscar Wilde wrote like Stephen Fry. Looking back, it's probably the other way around. Very quick, funny, and clever, not to mention the somewhat believable plot twist at the end. Ticks all the boxes.
