Absolutely absurd, nonsensical plot, but every event in it is so expertly crafted that they all form a logical, almost real feeling plot that is riveting to watch. All the many complex, individual pieces fit so well together, a mechanical clock would get jealous. And the characters embody these feelings just as well. No one in this story speaks like a real person, but everything they have to say is both interesting and entertaining.

While the resolution of the play is also mostly neat, the final act is hampered by the conversation Lady Bracknell involves everyone in. It reads as rather dry and feels longer than it actually is. It is just too concerned with trying to untangle the mess of a plot from the first acts and therefore lacks most of the humorous wit and social commentary that made the play so great to begin with.
