This is my favorite movie but I'd never read the book, so I finally got around to doing so. It was great because I pictured the movie in my head the whole time; some exact spoken phrases from the book were used in the movie. The book's ending was new to me, which made it more exciting. Great book. Wonderful movie.
i loved this book for the reason that the pivotal event that everything revolves around is curt cobain's death.
i didn't see the movie, but the soul fact that this event does not take place, compounded by hugh grant starring makes me never want to see it.

I saw the movie when I was younger, I've seen it several times. Only recently I found out that there's a book - which is kinda sad but I was too young to know anything back then so. Then I forgot about the whole book for a while and then stumbled on it at the library. Of course I loaned it.
I usually find these kind of books rather boring but this wasn't like that at all. I couldn't stop reading, it was very hard to put this book down and go to sleep. This was highly interesting and well-written book and I'm sad I didn't discover this sooner. This was humorous and deep in its own way and I fell in to the text. I wanted to read about these people and I wanted to know what would happen. I can't pinpoint the exact reason why this book is so amazing; is it the characters, is it the describing, is it the dialogue - I really don't know. All I know is that I truly enjoyed every page of this book and I will read this again in the future because I think this deserves to be read more than once.

Surprisingly sweet and very funny. I saw the movie first and I love it, so I was worried the book wouldn't live up to it, or it would make me retroactively dislike the movie. Neither of those things happened. The two are very different, but the heart is the same. I loved the character of Ellie in the book much more than the movie. The ending of the book is very different than the film, which is too bad because I was humming "Killing Me Softly With His Song" the whole time I read it, but the ending here works great and the ending of the movie is much better suited for a visual medium and would not have played well in a book. I know it's annoying to compare a book to the film adaptation, but all this is just to say that I really enjoyed it.
