loved every second of it!! <3 the way it was told and the environment, the characters and the mind games,, omg everything! literally couldn't put it down!! i guess i missed space more than i thought :P

To be honest, I just read that book because my bookbestie did happen to have a spare copy of it and said that it was good.

Hell, did she understate this.
Or I didn't listen good enough, forgive me, dearest.

It's a stunning book, visually. Super creative. I think when you do the various formats, it loses some character development and I don't think I fully understood what was going on at all times, but I'm excited to read the next one.

Omg the Phobos virus had some serious Reavers from Firefly vibes!! Good storyline and great sci fi. I'm not usually a fan of novels told in a series of notes or emails but this was super compelling. The audiobooks are trippy AF. With a full cast and background ambient noises, it was freaking terrifying. Lol well done.

I really liked this book even though I was a little disappointed with the last hundred pages... I liked the concept of the book as well as the story which is still exciting, I love Kady with all my heart. I start to love sci-fi with this series.

I'd give it a gazillion stars if it were possible.

It's rare to find such a gem like Illuminae at the bookstore when you least expect to.

I had been interested in purchasing this book when I skimmed through the pages. Not gonna lie but I am one of those weird readers who really likes books with IM conversations and emails. So, naturally, Illuminae was perfect for me.

It was a little confusing to follow in the beginning but it was fairly easy to pick up once I understood what was happening. The characters were also easy to grow fond of and I really lost it when the twist towards the end of the book happened.

Long story short - this is a must-read for YA sci-fi fans. I have officially inducted this into my hall of favorite books and will be keeping my copy as a future family heirloom. Needless to say, I am eagerly anticipating book 2!

This book is extremely enjoyable, though extremely difficult to get through. I definitely had to slog my way through a lot, because it is just so dense, one thing after another with little reprieve. I think could definitely do with more calmer moments to help you bond with the characters because the constant whirlwind was a but much for me. However, it is insanely creative and I look forward to No 2 :)
