Had such high hopes for this, but the translation was a bit stiff and overwritten.

I went into this book knowing its intention of being a slow novel that talked about new starts and re-discovering yourself, and I think it had potential to be a good, uplifting story, but I found the translation to be stiff and impersonal. The writing didn’t flow, and it didn’t feel welcoming and cozy like how a “healing” story should. I’m curious to check out the translator’s other works to see if they share the same issue, or if this might be a product of the story itself or the original writing. 2.75/5
