Was trying to figure out why this book has been banned in some states
Very cute story. I can see the appeal to elementary kids. Even some less obviously visual. jokes are included for adults.
Pilkey is the Adam Sandler of children's literature. Some folks hate the goofiness. Others adore it. I'm somewhere in the middle. More confused by his popularity than anything else.
He likes the whole series. It's a status symbol among the boys at school during nap time. A funny look at what it can mean to be a super hero.
Read this aloud to Johnny and we both loved it, including some new vocabulary: wedgie. And we learned about rubber doggie do-do. First time I had read this. Off to find the next in the series!
I thought it was cute, and my 5 year old thought it was hilarious. A fun book to read aloud together; we will be continuing the series as bedtime stories. I will definitely buy the first few instead of checking them out from the library because I can easily see both boys pulling them off the shelf to read for many years to come.
A re-read for a Captain Underpants program...I get why kids like them, but they are just not my thing.
