Another battle book for our school this year. I honestly picked it in hopes more reluctant readers would join. It’s silly, but kids love it.

I can't believe all these years later this is still so funny to me. Half the time I was laughing at the stupidness of the book and half the time I was laughing at myself for finding everything so funny. I highly recommend revisiting all your childhood favs because this one did not disappoint!

What it lacks in depth, it makes up for in goofy enthusiasm. Highly recommended for readers ages 5-9. Tra-la-la!

Captain Underpants is awesome! It still surprises me when it ends up on the annual top 10 Banned Books List each year.

George and Harold are best friend pranksters who write and illustrate comic books in their spare time. Mr. Krupp, their principal, finally has proof of their tricks (and on tape no less) after a big football game. He uses it to blackmail the boys into behaving and serving as his personal slaves, but the boys dream up a plan involving ordering away for a hypnotizing ring that will trick him into handing over the evidence.

The ring works well, too well. Mr. Krupp starts to believe that he is Captain Underpants, a comic book hero the boys made up. Now they've got their work cut out for themselves because at the snap of fingers Mr. Krupp becomes Captain Underpants and vice versa.

Funny and ridiculous, this series is a fan favorite. This title has been challenged for many reasons, most notably for encouraging kids to disobey authority figures.

Its story line and heavily illustrated text makes this an appealing title for reluctant readers so I don't imagine the bans and challenges will drop off anytime soon. Don't let them dissuade you from enjoying a great book, though. Grades 3-5.

My son definitely loves this book but we find the Dog Man style of graphic novel more fun since we each get to choose a character to read or act out. Dav certainly gets the humor of little boys and for that I’m thankful!

For a book challenged on the issue of language, the only language I found that could possibly be thought to be inappropriate by even the smallest minds was "doo-doo". What word would the censor nazis have preferred here? "Poop"? Workable, but not as funny. As for the issue of this book not being age appropriate, that is just laughable.
