This was an honest to god great book. I think I just had higher expectations. I liked Mike and Lauren a lot. I just think there was something missing; I don’t know exactly what it is but it’s missing. Kind of disappointed that there’s not much groveling. I wanted more groveling.
I very much enjoy a good sports book romance and this one was a great read! I had already read the other books in the series even though you won't be that lost if you don't read the others. Mike is a single father and Lauren is the one that made him happy but life got in the way....full review to come
I loved this book and I really enjoy this series. Bring me all the Hockey books.
Three for three. What are the odds, I would like all of the books in this series? If you say the author is Sarina Bowen, I would say they are pretty good. And I would be correct.
There are so many things about this book that I loved. First I am a sucker for an adult, second chance romance. I love a good single dad who doesn't always do everything right. And if you know anything about me, you know that I can't resist a bad-ass female lead.
Blurb: Mike Beacon is a champion at defending the net, but off the ice, he’s not so lucky. A widower and a single father, he’s never forgotten Lauren Williams, the ex who gave him the best year of his life. When Lauren reappears in the Bruisers office during the playoffs, Beacon sees his chance to make things right.
Lauren and Mike have chemistry but their history is fraught with pain and bad decisions. I am so glad that we finally get to see the real Lauren shine through as the story progresses and we learn to love two characters who seem not so loveable on page one.
Three books ... two days ... one series! I can't wait to see where we go next.

This as-of-yet latest book in the series was maybe my least favorite of the three, but that's like having to rate your three favorite candy bars. Someone's gotta be in last place, but that definitely doesn't mean you would toss it!
This one is another second chance romance where the hero and heroine were once together but the hero ends up going back to his estranged wife after she is diagnosed with cancer. You've got a single dad and a heroine who decides she's done waiting for love and going to have a baby on her own. Can the hero win her back or is it too late?

fast-paced
3.5* Heroine was clearly being pretty dumb and stubborn, but then was very easily persuaded. The ending was somewhat underwhelming and glossed over something they'd been leading up to all book.
it was okay, still not amazing or anything but pretty good. better than the second book at least. lauren was great and mike was pretty good. liked the whole “ur the only one for me and i havent been with anyone else” thing. elsa was annoying. the fact her name was ELSA also bothered me like what. but yeah. i was a tween not so long ago and i was never this emotional or teen dramay so that’s probably why it annoyed me so. i understand that she was grieving and all but still. it’s quite a negative portrayal of a 13 year old. dont mean to humble brag but i was a pretty well-adjusted prepubescent in my time (oops im old and 19 now).
This is weird because I loved reading this but I don't have much to say????
What I can say though is that this book broke my heart, stomped on it, burned it a little and then pieced it all back together. That's how good it is.

5 stars!

OH MY GAWD. I loved this book so hard! Sarina Bowen, you have outdone yourself!!!
Pipe Dreams is the third book in the Brooklyn Bruisers series but can easily be read as a standalone novel. This book follows Mike Beacon, goalie for the Bruisers and Lauren, the office manager to the man who owns the team. Four years ago they had been in a relationship, happy and in love, until two years ago when Mike broke up with Lauren and basically disappeared from her life very rapidly. What Lauren didn’t know was Mike needed to take care of his young daughter, as his wife who he was in the middle of divorcing became terminally ill.
Currently, Lauren has been brought in by the team owner to cover the Bruiser’s while they are in the playoffs. Mike and Lauren find themselves together more often and old feelings resurface. Mike wants to pursue Lauren again, but after he left her Lauren has issues with trust and doesn’t want to risk getting hurt again.

This is a book that every single time I put it down, I found myself craving to pick it back up. I gobbled this one up and wanted to hug it to my chest after reading it! Sarina Bowen is one of my favorite authors, and this book just reaffirmed why I always come back to her books every single time. I was even hesitant to pick this one up, because I just kind of liked the first book, and dnf’d the second. But I wanted to see what else was happening in the Bruiser’s world and I am so glad I did!
Second chance romance is my favorite subgenre of romance, I love seeing two people who belong to each other, make their way back to one another. Mike made a mistake two years before, but in my opinion he made it for all the right reasons. Does that mean he still didn’t mess up big time? No. But my heart bled for the man and the tough choices he had to make, and the one he chose ultimately for the better for his daughter.
Surprisingly for a second chance romance, there was zero to no drama. I kept waiting for it to happen at the 70% point on and when it didn’t, I was impressed! There was a little bit of angst, mostly because Lauren had to learn to trust again, but I completely understand that and so did Mike. And for having a 13 year old daughter in the book, delivering no drama is quite the achievement! What we did get as readers is emotional moments, ones that squeezed your heart but not too hard that it hurt. I found myself rooting for this couple for all that they had been through and was pulling for them so hard!
Anyways, this is a single parent, second chance, hockey sports romance that I think many readers will love and enjoy. After what felt like a rough start to the series (for me) it’s good to know that it just keeps getting better.
