I do not appreciate the violent case of whiplash I am experiencing after reading "My Oxford Year"! There is so much to like but this was not the frivolous, "meet cute" I thought I was getting when I picked this book up.
I will, no-questions-asked, read anything Julia Whelan reads so to find out that she had written this as well was such a profound treat to my February! The characters were well-rounded and believable and the accents that Ms. Whelan portrayed in her role as narrator were positively splendid, but it turned out to be a much more serious book than I thought it would be but that's on me and entirely my opinion.

Rated PG-13 for much discussion about terminal illness, death, mild sensuality, and profanity
