I wasn't looking forward to picking it up. I think if I'd read this 20 years ago I'd have really enjoyed it, but my reading tastes have changed and I don't like the characters very much. So far Morelli is very cringey. I'm sorry but the first few pages in, he sexually molests her (she's a 6 YEAR OLD, and granted, he's just a child too but GROSS) in the garage, never really talks to her for years later, screws her on the floor of a bakery (in 4 minutes) and then disappears again... sorry, that is just too yuck.

This was an abridged audio book version, since only that was available in my library. I don't understand why you would abridge a story if you could have all the audio, but here we go. Obviously, the story fell a bit short.
The premise is still interesting and I would expect the full version to hit its mark better.

Stephanie is not your stereotypical Italian girl living in a lonely world. She’s willing to do the dirty work (literally) to survive. I will definitely be reading the next in the series.

I wasn’t sure what to expect. It was an enjoyable story and surprisingly humorous. I’ll try out more of the series!

I liked the book, I really did. I am going to the library tonight to get other Stephanie Plum books! I would have liked to see a little more heat with Joe Morelli....I imagine him as really, incredibly sexy. Also, I do not see Katherine Heigel pulling off a New Jersey accent in the movie. I will most likely not go see the movie just because I don't want her to ruin it for me.
