This particular story in the series had a difficult job I reckon; firstly it had to continue off from a major event in the first story, and continue onto another major event occurring in the follow-up, and I believe, last book of the series.

The only thing that ever bothered me as I read was some repetition of information. I think Delaney is writing adult fiction but repeats information to make it more YA. Personally, although this series is YA, I've always felt it approaches topics with a great maturity and strong ideas. Delaney is clearly a talented writer.

This book has an amazing story. I go straight onto to the third and last book now.

It's more 4.5 stars. - 0.5 star because it was a bit boring at the beginning. Couldn't figure where the plot was going. But I'm glad I didn't give up on it. Got great somewhere in the middle. Barely managed to put it down after that. Couldn't wait to finish it. Now I can't wait for the next book.

Resurrected Tom is unsure of his abilities. He attempts to continue Jenny's training as a Spook but the impending invasion take up most of his and his allies' strength and cunning.

What can I say, I'm a sucker for these books. I do wish they would return to just doing some ghost hunting in the County, but I'll keep reading until all the series are done.

I'm actually dissapointed by this - The Spook's series is one of my all time favourites but I'm just not getting on with this new series and I don't know what it is about it. I'm not enjoying the drastic changes with Tom, I feel that he is way more selfish then he was in the original series and I know a lot of people will just say that it's his character development - which I get - but I don't like the new character development that's happening with Tom.

Majorly pissed off about Grimalkin, it was such a cheat way to go, and I think that he could of done something more with her character. I like Jenny, I think her character is awesome and I think she is a great apprentice but what I don't like is how it feels that Tom isn't teaching her properly because all of his attention is on Alice - which brings me back to him being quite selfish.

I'm going to carry on with the serie, because as I said it's one of my all time favourites but so far I'm really not impressed by it, I just think there is a lot of stuff lacking and it's not getting me excited for any of the future books, unlike the orginal series.
