Although it's my least favorite of the Rivers of London series so far, I still enjoyed the audio very much. My only complaint is that since it was set in the countryside the London regulars, especially Nightingale, Leslie and Dr. Walid, were barely in it and even then only on the phone. Not to mention Toby ;) (Inside joke.) Narrator Kobna Holdbrook Smith is BRILLIANT. Not only is he a perfect Peter Grant, but he voices every single character in every book (a huge cast) and they all sound distinct, but never forced or phony. How does he do it?? Concept and characters in this series are always so much fun. It's my go-to audio when I'm in a reading funk. Or a life funk, for that matter. Maybe it's as good in print, but I have no interest in finding out.

A jaunt in the country tries Peter Grant's skills, both wizarding and policing. Some loose ends left dangling that I hope we see a return to finish those bits... particularly the bees.

I love the series. Great character development, sarcasm, and the story continues to get better as the series continues. However, this story ended so abruptly it was a bit disconcerting. I understand there will be another book but I felt as if there are too many unresolved items from this book to just end it and continue in the next book...which has no release date yet. so i would give 3.5 but out of my love of the series we will do 4

I loved it! Great story, with awesome characters.
