I knew this one is going to be another heartbreak. And yes it is, I cried in some parts. But I love pain so whatever.
I thought it supposed to be like some kind of forbidden love? But everyone seems so chill about it. They stated that they're friend, a family. But yo, what kind of family does that? Also everyone seems so 'afraid' of Kaiden but there's never really a solid reason for that.
This book is okay. I mean, I read it in a day. But nothing really special.

This was so heart wrenching. The amount of times I cried is just ridiculous. First book by this author and I absolutely loved the way she portrayed the story and her writing is very poetic. There were some happy moments here and there but you just knew Emery’s faith and my heart broke for her and her mom.
This book hurts. My mom insisted I read it and I did. But man, I will never willingly choose books that don’t have a happy ending. I cried during multiple parts. It was beautifully written.
Man this book really pulls your heart strings. I don't often cry from books, but this one sure did it.
The story line is great. It got you in the feels. It had some good spice. And I loved the epologue.

I wish the romance could’ve been with anyone other than her fucking STEP BROTHER? That made it hard for me to connect with, but the last two chapters FUCKED me up. Had me in tears.

I didn’t enjoy the writing, the plot or the characters.
Some of the medical stuff was interesting, but written in such a way that I did not care. The main character was not likeable, but a snob and she constantly criticised books far better than this one.

Das Buch lässt mich etwas zwiegespalten zurück und ich war mir tatsächlich lange nicht sicher, ob ich hier 3 oder 4 Sterne vergeben soll.
Ich hab mich dann für letzteres entschieden, da mich die Geschichte doch so weit abgeholt hat, das ich zum Ende hin ein paar Tränen vergossen habe, dennoch bin ich nicht zu 100% mit dem Gesamtpaket zufrieden.
"Vor uns die Dämmerung" von B. Celeste setzt sich (meiner unerfahren Meinung nach) authentisch mit der Autoimmunerkrankung Lupus auseinander und die Momente, in denen ich Emery alleine verfolgen konnte, haben mir definitiv am besten gefallen.
Ich konnte fast all ihre Gedanken nachvollziehen (bzw. zumindest verstehen), auch wenn ich sie anhand ihrer Art und dem Verhalten nach eher auf 16 anstatt 19 geschätzt hätte.
Kaiden ist an sich ebenfalls ein sympathischer Charakter, der mit eigenen Problemen zu kämpfen hat, aber als die beiden sich dann schließlich annähern und ein Paar werden, konnte ich das überhaupt nicht fühlen.
Für mich kamen hier null Emotionen rüber, die Gefühle der beiden füreinander waren zu schnell von 0 auf 100 und neben den schlecht geschriebenen Gesprächen wirkte der Umgangston der beiden sehr gestellt.
Ja, ich musste weinen, war also doch irgendwie mitten in der Geschichte drin, aber wenn ich dieses Buch hier mit "A thousand boy kisses" vergleiche (und der muss aufgrund der Ähnlichkeit definitiv erlaubt sein), dann kann "Vor uns die Dämmerung" einfach nicht mithalten.
Empfehlenswert ist es allemal, aber aufgrund der fehlenden Bindung zu den Hauptcharakteren, konnte es mich nicht komplett überzeugen.
