one of the worst romance books I've ever read. ever. im so confused how this book has such a good avg rating like? are you guys okay? between the incest and the fact that it's so badly written.... im concerned.
I'm not only disappointed but just upset. I bought this book thinking the cover is gorgeous, and the synopsis seemed promising. i was so wrong.
the book was more about her dead sister than anything else, and the guy is her step-brother (not really incest but not really not incest, it should be illegal to have incest in a book and to not have it on the synopsis). not to mention the guy is an absolute asshole, but is like "oh I do these things for you" ?? i didn't feel the attraction grow between them at all, just like bam I'm saying smutty things to you but yet nothing else! I had to skip the smut because it was so cringy and disgusting like y'all are in HIGH SCHOOL!! why are you writing about how big a high schoolers dick is!?
And Emery is the most annoying FMC I've ever read. I know she's dying and is ill but JESUS CHRIST she's so bad. all she does the entire book is complain. about. literally. everything! And then she'll say stuff like "I get made fun of for my weird style" meanwhile she just wears a t-shirt and jeans. Like that's the "weird" style? really? i can see why her sister was her only friend because what a drag to have emery as a friend. she's rude, negative, boring, and makes everything about herself. like, girl. come on.
it all just screams pick-me. I'd argue it's worse than colleen hoover. the entire book is flat, and though there are emotional things happening I literally could not feel an ounce of emotion while reading (it's so poorly written). there's no tone or emotion at all. I did not feel bad for emery, I didn't feel bad for kaiden, and I didn't feel bad for their families. I think it's kinda gross that their family didn't even care they were having sex. Even if she's dying, it's still pretty gross.
save ur time and money, don't read this one.

Gut Wrenching!
I never thought I would willingly read a book that would break my heart but here we are! Kaiden and Emery's story was gut wrenching but absolutely beautiful.

Thought this book was going to make me cry like Full Tilt and A Thousand Boy Kisses…. To my disappointment it didn’t. I didn’t even shed a tear. Was really hoping this book would break my heart like everyone said it would but it was just missing something. I didn’t get attached to Emery like I thought I would.
