I realized recently that I love it when books provide a well-researched window into an industry that I know nothing about, and apparently the illegal manufacturing of designer handbags is no exception. I really enjoyed that aspect of this book. Unfortunately, I had a hard time connecting with the main characters and felt like some of the plotlines (notably Ava's marriage and child) were resolved without much explanation. Ultimately this was a three star read for me.

Man oh man do I LOVE an unreliable narrator. The first half of the book I was kind of bored. The book felt kind of predictable and the characters were too innocent or evil. I was sooo annoyed every time Ava referred to the “sect I’ve” Halfway through when we find out that Ava is a master manipulator I started to have so much fun. Fricken girlhood geniuses. Love it.
