While not as memorable as the first book, this sequel is just as charming and mysterious. The world building and characters are easily the best part of this series meaning that any book about them is guaranteed to be a hit. My one complaint is the plot hole of time-flow. This book takes place one week after it’s predecessor! Give these characters time to emotionally and physically recover from the last book Osman!!

Even though the score doesn't look great, I did really enjoy this book. I love the characters and never wanna not read about them! I felt for Donna in this book, it was very well written her arc. If she was real I would love to be her friend. And Bogdan I love, even though not always in the limelight he makes an impression and I love reading what's occurring with him. I think the characters are what makes this story, they jump off the page, I forget they aren't real.

Why I marked it lower though is I found the plot a little less captivating than the first book. Although I enjoyed it, I felt the ending felt, in a sense, rushed. The climax was short, and the drama was lost very quickly.

I still would recommend and I plan to continue reading what the gang gets up to next!

Richard Osman's "The Man Who Died Twice" is a five-star triumph that continues to captivate readers with its wit and charm. In this sequel to "The Thursday Murder Club," the beloved retirees from Coopers Chase retirement village return for another delightful mystery adventure.

Osman's storytelling prowess shines once again as he weaves a clever and engaging narrative filled with unexpected twists and humor. The characters, led by the unforgettable Thursday Murder Club members, are as endearing as ever, proving that age is no obstacle to solving crimes or enjoying life to the fullest.

The plot takes us on an exciting journey, and Osman expertly balances suspense with humor, creating a perfect blend of entertainment. While the story maintains a brisk pace, it also delves into themes of friendship, aging, and the enduring quest for purpose in later life, adding depth to the narrative.

In "The Man Who Died Twice," Osman has crafted another masterpiece that deserves every one of its five stars. It's a delightful and witty mystery that will leave readers eagerly anticipating the next adventure of the Thursday Murder Club. If you're a fan of Osman's previous work or simply enjoy a good mystery filled with heart and humor, this book is an absolute must-read.

This was an excellent followup from book 1, with a tighter and more action packed mystery but the same loveable characters and light humour.
