THIS NOVELLA IS INFUSED WITH SO MUCH LOVE I CAN’T TAKE IT

This was a nice little novella with a HEA for a character we met in the first book. I did skip the epilogue because it’s set 21 years after the ending and I’m not a fan of epilogues THAT far into the future.

Trigger warnings include mentions of physical abuse and gaslighting.

But everything else in this book was lovely. Samir is the best hero and I’m happy Laura found someone who is sweet. They met each other 15 years ago when they were teens and now they meet again as adults. Laura is still “technically” married to her abuse husband Daniel (also known as Ruth’s ex from the first book) but has run away to get some peace before she gives birth. I hope this is the last we see of Daniel. He’s the worst.

I’m usually not a fan of pregnancy books but this was okay. I liked the Laura and Samir and we got to meet some of the characters in Samir’s little seaside restaurant.

Laura deserves her HEA

As much as you wanted to hate Laura in the first book she totally deserved herself a good man. Samir is a childhood friend she literally runs into while escaping her devil of a husband. The leading men in this series are so perfect and willing to let their ladies just be themselves. Great novella!

This was short but I really enjoyed it. So many heart eyes. Samir gives me warm fuzzies.

What to expect: childhood lovers to strangers to lovers, second chance romance, he falls so fucking hard

This one was interesting! I really loved how these characters connected to the first book, and their relationship was so adorable

Spice: 2.5

Content Notes: pregnancy is a main storyline in this novella

Okay I’m conflicted about this novella. Because while I loved the redemption arc for Laura, I don’t love a pregnancy plot line and Laura is pregnant for the entire book. Also, I don’t feel justice was served for Daniel (or Hayley)! I wanted more!!

But is Laura’s awakening that she’s a bad person good? Yes.
Is Samir an adorable little muffin in classic Talia hero style? Yes.
