didn’t know what this book was about but it was not what i expected. i really liked it and read it so quickly i couldn’t stop reading lol. it wasn’t a book that took forever to get going which i liked and was an easy read. i think not knowing what the the picture of dorian gray was really helped because i couldn’t compare it

The premise of the book is what drew me in: “Inspired by The Picture of Dorian Gray?” Yes, please. However, this just didn’t do it for me. Everything about this book was farfetched.

None of the main characters were likeable. We have Mick, who doesn’t like to get her picture taken and overreacts about it. Then there’s Veronica, who doesn’t seem to understand the concept of consent and makes the dumbest decisions. And finally there’s Nico, who’s an over exaggerated villain for absolutely no reason. There’s nothing redeemable about any of them. The side characters were just as useless.

The plot didn’t help either as none of it was believable. And the ending was just ?????

Anyways, the best part of this is the cover

Had to go back to the library because it was overdue (even though I'd literally only checked it out like the week before??)

man, this is probably my most disappointing read of 2022. i was so excited for this.

(a lot of this is my own personal taste, and i can see why people would love this book!)

i’ll be honest, it did get better for me after reading about 50%, and it is an incredibly quick read, so it has that going for it. the last third in particular was pretty good, too! but the beginning, some of the mannerisms of these characters, and some plot points just weren’t believable. i wanted so much more from this story :(

i still think this was nice to read, and it did pick up, as i said, about halfway through. i just personally expected something else, i think!

I never write reviews but I had high hopes for this and wow, was this disappointing.

We get it. He just…wants to kill people. For no reason. He’s just evil, I guess.

This book felt interminable. It took an eternity to ramp up and then the end was just too much
