This book revolves around Annie, a Navy pilot in her late twenties. She drives fast, flies fast, etc. basically because she is trying to escape the fact that her dad left her when she was young to be raised by her aunt. He is a con artist wanted by various state police and the FBI. The story is entertaining but the writing is simplistic. Better than I could write, mind you, but that is not saying too much. I like authors who reveal characters in subtle ways and this author just comes out and says why a character is the way she is - not leaving much for my imagination. Overall, a good summer read and I don't regreat reading it. However if you are looking for something that stops and makes you ponder the characters or story line, this really isn't the book.
I’m cheating because I read the first half and only skimmed the second half (it is over 540 pages long). I liked it at first but felt it started to drag. And that character Rafael Rook really ruined it for me.
The story was decent, but the writing had me skimming and rolling my eyes a lot.
maybe 3.5 stars. It was an enjoyable book. I liked the protagonist, but it was a little predictable and drawn out. It was an entertaining read, that was not really believable. It had heart, though and likable characters. It would make a good movie.

As long as you are willing to completely forget logic and just go with the story, it was an enjoyable read.
