Really enjoyed this story even though I felt it took forever to get to the good part!
Writing was OK, but the characters though funny and charming really annoyed me and seemed forced.
This book has many facets. A little dysfunctional family drama, a little mystery, a little about crime, and a lot about finding yourself. All of these come together wonderfully in this novel. I'm incredibly glad that I picked this one up. Although a little long, it was fast paced and action packed.
The story was interesting and I liked the way it was written. It was too long and could've had 175 to 200 pages less than the 500 plus pages. There was a lot of repeating about the characters stories and emotional issues that they were dealing with.
The story of a female navy pilot dealing with the meaning of family and abandonment by her father when she was 7 years old. Fairly interesting characters and a good plot, this book would have been much better if had been shorter. It really dragged the last third, until the last couple of chapters.
the plot thickened nicely and was just enough of a flight of fancy for me... Especially when tempered with family questions, Southern culture, and the stories of this great small town. It was an intriguing way to treat a treasure hunt.
