It took me almost a year to finish this. There were small chunks that I enjoyed, but overall it was a giant letdown. I listened to it as an Audiobook so maybe that made it worse, but spending over six hours mostly listening to her ramble about the many, many men she has kissed and slept with and fantasized about bored me. Not in a slut shaming way, I was just bored. It felt like listening to a teenage girl and I have already BEEN a boy crazy teenage girl.
Felt like one long, never ending sentence. The humor didn’t vibe with me one bit, which is largely part of the problem. Obnoxious the whole way through. Basically uses Helen Fisher, Harry styles, and memes to stumble its way through the pages. Just not what I anticipated or expected

Vaguely funny, vaguely useful. Honestly, I was drawn to this by the title and while it was good enough that I finished reading it, I didn't love it.

There are a lot of great, funny, quotable moments in this book (such as "How to Get the Perfect Revenge Body. Step one: Have a body. Step two: Use it to stab your ex"). But there are also some pretty thought-provoking, important, interesting messages in there, delivered in a lively, conversational, tongue-in-cheek tone. It comes from a place of privilege (being written by a white, straight, cisgendered woman), but that privilege is acknowledged frankly and often, and Roberson isn't trying to say that her experiences are universal, simply that they're her own experiences. If you're a straight single woman, or someone looking to understand how straight single women feel about the dating world, this is a great book to read.

This book was pure genius. I love how it works to make visible all the mostly invisible lessons women are taught about the world.
it was....... not what i expected? not totally bad! totally not MY particular taste, very much not what i thought i would get based on the tittle, but not bad. 2.5 outta 5.
