Witty and sharp. Loved the dual POVs and just being in the mind of Max was especially great.

very tepid. i enjoyed it but the prose was a bit too sparse for my liking... a lot of the disparate musings could've been substack essays tbh. i think that the author is a bit too conventional for my tastes, which is fine. trans women should get to be boring

I enjoyed this very much! Max was so funny, and I was pleasantly surprised by the Vincent chapters as well. Usually when books split chapter POV between characters I find one is infinitely more interesting, but this a nice balance. Also, a very nice mix of romance, family, and friend relationships without feeling too overwhelming. Honestly, I can’t really find many faults at all, other than the drama at the end feeling ever so slightly rushed, but not so much that it made the story feel unfinished. Overall, very good!!
