I can't keep reading this. I bought it before I realised I don't like open door sex but I was interested in the story.
Until the word "assaults" was used in a sex scene. Some of the word choices are ridiculous - "impalement"?! Also, given how many difficult words are used for him, "her sex" is used in too many contexts to understand which bits it's trying to refer to.

The autism rep was interesting, but I can't read this. I flicked forward before I decided to stop reading and I've got an idea of how it ends. I don't need to finish the book.
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes
fast-paced

I really loved this book. Not sure if it was because it was a palette cleanser from recent reads or if it was that I needed something light during a stressful time. The writing was actually great and believably cheesy. I loved the unique POV and the refreshingly different main characters

This book is SPECTACULAR.

I will be honest and say that I have no sufficient knowledge about autism — but reading Stella has given me such in-depth idea on how their mind works (of course, I’m not generalizing every autistic person, I’m just saying that Stella gave me a good idea on how they think) and reading Michael has taught me how to perceive them and thus act around them. How to not alienate them.

I love how I was so drawn to Stella & Michael since the beginning and how the way their story was woven did not make me uncomfortable (as a reader who was not properly educated about autism) nor confused even for a moment. But most of all, I love how I was not just a reader. I felt like I was part of the story. How Stella’s thoughts communicated well through me, and how Michael’s personality reflected well within his words that it literally resonated within me.

Helen Hoang’s writing is impeccable — she’s such a good writer! I have only begun reading smut books this year, and so I will confess that I am almost *always* uncomfortable reading blatant ‘dirty’ words, but the way Hoang explored Stella’s personality, and laid the workings of her mind made me understood that Michael & Stella’s deeds weren’t dirty. Or at least it wasn’t meant to be. And Hoang wrote them so well that she expressed these to me without directly saying so, and it’s just so… *chef’s kiss*!

Now, Stella and Michael will always ALWAYS have a special place in my heart. They deserve the love they have for each other, and I’m just so happy I got to witness them unfold.

Now, wait for me Khai & Quan!

This one was just OK. I always like books with diverse and original characters, so I liked that Hoang had a half-Vietnamese leading man and the heroine reflected her personal struggles as a woman with high-functioning autism. However, I felt like the originality stopped there--I really enjoyed the first half of the book and the beginnings of the relationship between Stella and Michael, but it got boring and predictable halfway through. I've read worse but I've read better!

This was such a cosy and sweet romance. I loved the representation, I haven't read anything as unique as this.
