It was fun to read a story with the main character having high-functioning autism, especially a romance novel. I enjoyed reading her perspective on her relationship and Michael's empathy and character arc. Overall it was a light, beach read romance!

DID NOT FINISH

I had to renew it 4 times and that should have been a sign. The last straw was ch. 22 When Michael forced himself on Stella to “erase every last trace of that piece of shit “. Date rape is dangerous.

This was a reread. I had forgotten how much I liked this book. I identified with the MC a lot. Her love of order and neatness just spoke to my ocd soul! Loved the love story in it as well. The only thing I didn’t like was the miscommunication/ lack of talking between the MC and love interest.
lighthearted medium-paced
Strong character development: Yes

Original, compelling, and memorable. I can't wait to read more from Helen Hoang.

DID NOT FINISH: 55%

I can't keep reading this. I bought it before I realised I don't like open door sex but I was interested in the story.
Until the word "assaults" was used in a sex scene. Some of the word choices are ridiculous - "impalement"?! Also, given how many difficult words are used for him, "her sex" is used in too many contexts to understand which bits it's trying to refer to.

The autism rep was interesting, but I can't read this. I flicked forward before I decided to stop reading and I've got an idea of how it ends. I don't need to finish the book.
