This book was so cringy. I literally could not get past the FMC just touching some strangers face. And then right after that some other guy just has to have an arm around her waist to help her up the stairs? I’m out thanks. This read like a bad fanfic. DNF.

This book was a really fun read. Lots of action and fun twists. It seemed a little repetitive at times but it was still fun to step into Katmere Academy with all the fun mystical creatures/characters! This book definitely hooked me from the first page and I couldn’t stop reading wanting to find out what happened next. I’m loving Jaxon and Grave’s dynamic but there are a lot of books to go so I’m cautiously optimistic

Do you remember being a teenager and having one of your parents say something in front of your friends they thought was cool, but your gut twists in anguish because to you and your friends it is mortifyingly embarrassing? This book was, from start to finish, that feeling of painful embarrassment. If I hear anyone say, "Sexy AF/ Hot AF" in the near future I might have to punch them. Basically the definition of cringe.

I feel bad reading a book I suspected I would absolutely dislike from the start, but here I am with a finished book.
