Tracy Wolff (ça commence fort déjà)… Vraiment...

I feel like I need to give this 4 star rating a massive caveat because I don't want people to think that quality wise this is PEAK fiction. It really isn't. In fact I have many issues with it. Grace is kind of an annoying main character, the side characters are very wishywashy, and there are more logic holes in the plot than anything else. On top of that we also have the most insta-love romance of the century in here. So yeah, there are many things wrong with this book.
That all being said though this was so much FUN. I haven't had such a blast reading a book in A WHILE. Despite this being quite a long book it had me engaged for the entirety of it. Not a whole lot happens in it but the overall melodramtic vibe to it just had me hooked. On top of that I do have to admit that some of the dialogue was ridiculous and it had me giggling. I legit haven't laughed this much with a book in a while, and I'm not entirely sure how much of that was intentional. Either way I had a blast.
I also can't deny that I am really invested in the world build in this book. I also think the story is quite interesting (as long as you don't pay attention to the details) and I absolutely can't wait to read the sequel. I don't know. Sometimes entertainment is all that matters, and this delivered on that really well.

so many plot holes and cringe but I just couldn’t put it down

Let me get this straight

I just read almost 600 pages of a fucking girl who is a Mary sue with the mentality of a 5 y/o falling in love plus being cheesy and cringey with a member of basically the Ku Klux klan of vampires???

I lost every single braincell I had with this book. Like this WOULDN'T BE PEAK WHEN I WAS 16 AND IT DEFINITELY ISNT NOW.

It made me actually rage reading this.

Who the fuck let this woman publish a book?? like the shitty ass writing??? not only narrative and dialogue-wise, like what are you doing saying "fml", "af" in a fucking book when it's not dialogue or chat????

It’s a cross between twilight’s love story meets mystical plot from tv show legacies. I feel it was written well and gave good hints to climax without spoiling the book. It’s a six book series and I am now starting book two, wish me luck.

Imagine Twilight if it were set in Alaska, had dragons and witches, had ten times the pop culture references, and even more cringey (FMC called MMC “tall, dark, and surly” three different times within a chapter or two and the author uses the phrase “sexy AF” wayyyy too often). Fine as a joke read, but you can definitely tell this was made to be a stereotypical “romantasy” book.
