DID NOT FINISH: 74%

While it was certainly reminiscent of twilight, majority of this book felt like filler. Why I understand that it's crucial to build an environment, I'm most certainly feel that a lot of time was spent focusing on characters and the environment rather than actually progressing the story. Perhaps they get better, but when I'm almost 430 pages in and we've only established how dark and rooting the love interest is compared to other characters, I don't think I want to reopen this book again.

Ahahahahahaha wow hahahaha more to come

I honestly enjoyed this more than I thought I would. It was insta love and a little cringey but still sucked me in.

Yo, who made this book popular? This was INSUFERABLE! I thought maybe it was the world-building that was just making it drag on, no! There was barely any of that. It was these characters. Grace is one of the worst FMC that I have read in a long time and Jaxon was no better as a MMC! This had the potential to be cool with all of the species in school together but this was a bad rip off of Twilight with no redeeming qualities. I even skipped the "bonus content" from Jaxon's POV because I just wanted to be done. I was pushing myself to finish this every step of the way and even when something remotely interesting happened it was ruined by Grace's awful inner dialogue and cheesy side characters. For the love all that is good, don't read this.

The authors use of descriptors is poor. At one point she used the phrase "fighting chance" 4 or 5 times within 2 paragraphs. The neediness of the main character is too much, and my first uh oh moment in the book was when
she somehow pulled a deep emotional connection with Jackson in the 30 seconds they interact upon meeting.
