I hated that Jess went through that, but she wouldn’t have gotten the courage to come out to her parents at the end or even speak up for herself against others. She’s someone who holds in her anger and won’t really do things for herself and then be resentful of that. But being haunted by the Black Water Sister and her own grandmother gave her the push to do what she did. This was really enjoyable. The writing and the theme of religion were my favorite aspects.
