I went into this expecting to not like it. Boy was I wrong! I devoured this in a weekend. It was a great summer read with an unexpected twist.

I saw so many good reviews for this one. I felt sure that it was going to be really good. To me, though, it was just okay. It was actually kind of boring for the first half, and the second half wasn't much better. I kept waiting for something exciting or interesting to happen. It mostly didn't. Kind of a bummer since the story takes place in my home state of Maryland. Not many stories are written with that setting. It's not that the story was bad. It just wasn't as good as I'd hoped it would be.

What a wonderful story! It had a little bit of everything - mystery, community, nature and romance. I will miss these characters for awhile.

I really loved this book. I had been so excited to read it! The only reason it gets 4 stars is because there is a point where the story gets a little slow in the middle but then it definitely picks right back up again. This is about a woman named Piper whose husband dies at sea but she still believes he is alive and continues to live that way. And as the residents on the small Frick Island are not quite sure what to do to help their beloved Piper they go along with it. That is until a small paper reporter named Anders shows up.

I loved the characters in this. The small town feel is very reminiscent of any fans of Stars Hollow (Gilmore Girls). Definitely recommend this if you want just a good story and light read.
