a book about Rod Campbell's shitty taste in animals. it's like a slightly more fantastical story about bringing a dog home from the pound but returning it when it's “too much work”

This is a sweet little board book with flaps that my two-year-old can open all by himself. The story is quick and the animals invite plenty of noise-making (provided you allow "slurp" for a giraffe and a spitting sound for a camel). I thought it was cute but not particularly awesome. However, the little boy of the house insisted on reading it over and over until I was tempted to hide it under the couch, so obviously it's likable.

lift-the-flap books are all the rage around here. the monkey page is Miles' fave. He really loves monkeys for some reason...

This is one of Alex's favorites! He loves to work the flaps and see the animals underneath. It's one that we read together often.

Really great use of dromedary, and an astounding ending!

I read this book to my baby son. Interesting how he reacts to the different animals, though he seemed to like the picture at the back of the book. A good read nevertheless.

Berry loved this one!
